The Peroni company was first established under the establishing family name in the town of Vigevano, Italy, in the year 1846. The company then moved to Rome by a chap called Giovanni Peroni in 1864, just six years previously to Rome converting to the Italian capital in 1870. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the organisation became one of the most leading Distilling company in the newly unified Italian country.
By the end of the 1990s, both the Peroni brand and merchandise business were distributed and known across the world. The London-based brewing giant SABMiller acquired the company in 2003, making it one of the few global brands in its collection. In April 2016, Asahi purchased the Brewery of London as well as the Grolsch and Peroni beer names from SABMiller.
